Cubbon Park

Cubbon Park

Hi There,
Today I have visited one of the iconic places Bangalore is famous for that is Cubbon Park. It is called as 'lung' area of city, located in the central administrative area. Many official and public buildings are located within and along the periphery of the park.
 State Central Library building
The Cubbon Park has a history of over 100 years. It was established in the year 1870 by Sri John Meade, the then acting Commissioner of Mysore. The vast landscape of the park was conceived by Major General Richard Sankey, the then Chief Engineer of the State. As a mark of honour to Sri John Meade, the park was initially named as "Meade’s Park" and subsequently it was called the Cubbon Park. Since the inception of the park, it was developed and improved by adding new structures and features. In the year 1927, the park was officially renamed as "Sri. Chamarajendra Park" to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Sri. Krishnaraja Wodeyar’s rule in Mysore State.
 Flower plants
Cubbon Park is basically designed as a public park in an area of about 100 acres and expanded over the years. The park has a predominant green area with a few concrete buildings, housing government and other organizations' offices. The park has many motorable roads. It also has well laid out walking paths running through the park. It serves as a nature public park, at the same time aims at protecting the environment and greenery. It is a major lung space of Bangalore and a location for early morning walkers, so also for naturalists who study plants in the serene natural environment.
Lots of Birds and their noise makes you feel very nice
Sunday is the best time to visit this place because the roads are blocked out and no vehicle traffic is allowed inside. So I reached there today afternoon, I entered from State central library gate and got idea about how big its going to be because it took my about five minutes to reach near library from gate which was looking near. It is the one of the few places in Bangalore which will give you fresh breeze. You will surely forget all your headaches. Sit in this park to listen sounds of birds and gushing of winds. Awesome play area for kids. Calm and relaxing place for senior citizens. People interested in photography, or those who are in learning stage can visit these place, which gives you enough opportunity click and capture your creativity. Finally Don't Miss the Mango and Grape Juice Sold by Karnataka Govt. Horticulture dept. Rs 15/- per bottle. It's delicious, fresh and hygiene.

Tipu Sultans Summer Palace

Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, Bangalore

Hello,
This time I went to one of the tourists hotspot in Bangalore that is Tipu Sultans Summer Palace.

This magnificent in wood, stone, mortar, and plaster was started by Nawab Hyder Ali khan in 1781 AD and completed by Tipu Sultan in 1791 AD. It is situated within the fort walls of  Bangalore, Next to the Shree Venkataramana Temple. Though it looks like one storied pillared pavilion, It is actually double storied Building of symmetric plan, Typical of this style of architecture. Built on stone plinth, The facade has gigantic fluted pillars in wood with stone bases, that supports huge wooden beams constituting the structure. The pillars are in typical Indo-Islamic style painted and polished in two different colors to accentuate the carvings on them.

The walls and wooden ceilings of entire palace are painted in floral motif on madder red surfaces in muted warm colors, gilded and in great detail and beauty. The upper chambers and balconies can be accessed by four staircases leading to them. The central portion on the first floor, is a large hall leading off to four smaller rooms at its corner. These rooms are considered the zenana quarters. located in the two balconies on the north and south were the seat of state, where the sultan held audience and conducted his affairs of state. An inscription on a stone found in a palace describes it best as an  'Abode of happiness and envy of heaven.'

There is a nice and well maintained garden in front of palace
Children coming there enjoy playing with sprinklers
There is a Venkataramana Temple on right side of the palace
I went to the palace today, Sunday, January 31, 2016 in afternoon and I felt really troublesome  to get the right path to get there from bus stop, because of construction work going on on the shortest path so it took lot of my time to reach there but once I reached there I felt relaxed, but the thing is I didn't felt like its a palace, nothing royal as compared to historical palaces of Maharashtra like Lal Mahal ( Red Palace ), Shaniwarwada. It is just 2 BHK with duplex with two balconies, actually its like I was expecting more than what it is because of the palaces I visited before, but still whatever it is it is nice & still a place worth visit once.
Selfie
The palace is open to public daily from 10 am to 6 pm and from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on sundays and there is an entry fee of Rs 5 for per person for Indians and Rs 100 per person for foreigners. Photography is allowed and there is no special fees for use of camera.
Location:
Albert Victor road, Chamrajpet, Bangalore, 560018.
How to Reach:
The place is located near crowded city market of Bangalore, at the junction of Albert Victor road and Krishnarajendra in the enclosure of the tipu sultan fort. The city of Bangalore is well connected with other metro cities of India by rail and air. the city is quite approachable from most of the important cities and towns of south by road and rail after coming in Bangalore you can reach to the palace by BMTC local bus service or you can take a cab to reach there.
How I reached:

Thank you :) See you next week with new place
